For the tiger protection Uttar Pradesh (U.P) seeking Rs 15cr at Dudhwa Tiger Reserve

For the better management of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, Uttar Pradesh government sought Rs 15crore from the Center. Uttar Pradesh forest department sought this amount to upgrade the protection mechanism and management of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve. The top priorities of the department is develop a strong security force in the reserve area.

According to the Uttar Pradesh (U.P) government the fund money is used for tiger protection, repair roads, bridge, install hi-tech camera traps and improve communication network within the reserves.

Rupak De, PCCF (wildlife) said,”we are hopeful to get 10-12crors Indian rupee from the Center.”

At present the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is guarded by 150 private security guards and according to the Officials staff there are at least 90 to 100 security men required in the reserve area at a time. For the Special Tiger Protection Force (STPF), the department will hold the meeting on 8 August 2012, to plan to deploy STPF in Uttar Pradesh protected area.
